Format:

  1. HR Zoom Interview – 40 minutes

  2. Pilot/Management Zoom Interview – 40 minutes

  3. In-Person Simulator Evaluation– Columbus, OH

Dress: Business professional for all interviews.

Have ready: Resume, logbook, availability date.

Phase 1: HR Telephone Interview

Focus: Cultural fit, professionalism, leadership, and reflection. NetJets values authenticity, judgment, and anticipation of client needs.

Expect:

  • Questions about your experience, personality, and decision-making.

Common Questions:

  • “Tell me something about yourself that we cannot decipher from your resume or application?”

  • “Why should we hire you here at NetJets?

  • “Have you applied to any other companies?”

  • “How would you describe yourself in one word?”

  • TMAT when you went outside company policy?

  • “What does safety mean to you?”

  • “What is the difference between good and exceptional customer service?” –

Tips:

  • Use STAR/START method (Situation, Task, Action, Result, Takeaway).

  • Provide aviation examples when possible, especially for leadership, CRM, and decision-making.

  • Reflect on lessons learned, not just outcomes.

  • Keep answers concise but thorough.

Phase 2: Pilot or Senior Leader Interview

Focus: Authenticity and consistency. They recap the HR interview to see if your answers match and if your personality aligns with NetJets culture.

Expect:

  • Follow-ups on HR answers; deeper dive into leadership, and decision-making.

  • Conversation-style, sometimes scenario-based.

  • Questions about client service, teamwork, and CRM.

Tips:

  • Be consistent with your HR interview answers.

  • Show anticipation of client needs and situational awareness.

Phase 3: In-Person Columbus Interview & Simulator Evaluation

  • The interview starts the moment your wheels touch down in Columbus and ends once you climb away. Treat everything as part of the evaluation.

  • Study all prep material with your sim partner at the hotel the night before.

Sim Tips & Expectations:

  • Know your callouts.

  • You will be put on the runway and cleared for takeoff. Breathe, take your time, and work through your checklist - don’t rush.

  • Expect speed restrictions on climb out. If you or your sim partner overspeed, call it out and correct it.

  • Expect steep turns in each direction.

  • You will be asked to return to the airport, most frequent reason is the passenger forgot something in their car.

  • One applicant will perform a go-around either flying down to minimums, or sometimes an animal comes onto the runway. The other pilot will land.

  • Focus on good CRM throughout: communicate clearly, keep everyone in the loop, make sound decisions, and anticipate potential issues.

Overall: NetJets interviews are structured but emphasize genuine professionalism, leadership, and exceeding customer expectations. HR focuses on cultural fit, pilot/senior leader interviews test consistency and judgment, and the Columbus sim day tests operational skill, and CRM. Be yourself, demonstrate sound judgment, and be able ot convey that you want to be a career NetJets pilot.
