Sometimes we hear from a client whose career path is anything but typical, and those stories are often the most rewarding.

Recently, a former Navy F/A-18 pilot reached out after spending nearly two decades in the banking industry following his military service. Although he had stepped away from professional flying, he never lost his passion for aviation, continuing to fly a single-engine piston aircraft recreationally. With about 10 years remaining before mandatory retirement, the flying bug returned in full force, and he decided it was time to pursue the airline career he had always wanted.

When his first-choice airline invited him to interview, he wanted to ensure he was fully prepared. Working with Ryan, he refined his stories, strengthened his interview responses, and headed into the interview with confidence.

We're thrilled to share that he received a CJO.

After nearly 15 years away from advancing thrust levers, he'll soon be doing it again, this time not in a fighter jet launching from the deck of an aircraft carrier, but on the flight deck of an airliner.

His story is a great reminder that every pilot's journey is different. With the right preparation and the confidence to tell your story authentically, incredible opportunities can still be waiting, no matter where your career has taken you.
